How Durant ISD centralized enrollment to a single coordinator
Durant ISD had multiple people processing enrollment applications, causing data inconsistencies and delayed parent responses. With Edulyze, one coordinator handles enrollment for the entire district — with cleaner data and parents getting answers the same day.
Durant ISD is a public school district in southeastern Oklahoma serving approximately 3,900 students across seven campuses — from early childhood through high school. The largest district in the region, Durant serves a diverse student body and is known for its achievements in academics, music, and athletics.

Every year, Durant's enrollment team processes nearly 2,800 applications — new enrollments and annual updates combined. To keep up, the work was spread across multiple staff at multiple campuses. Each person reviewed documents differently: which documents to accept, what qualified as an exception, and which families needed follow-up.
The result: inconsistent data entering the SIS, and leadership with no real-time visibility into where enrollments stood. When state reporting season came around, the data problems that had been building all summer surfaced all at once.
Meanwhile, families waited days to hear whether their application was approved. And the person at the center of it all started questioning whether the job was sustainable.
Something had to change.
Durant's leadership made a strategic decision: centralize all enrollment through a single coordinator instead of spreading it across multiple staff. One person applying the same rules to every application would solve the consistency problem. But 2,800 applications a year wasn't going to change.
The district needed a way to make one person's workload realistic at that scale. In the fall of 2024, they implemented Edulyze Enrollment Document Verification, integrating with their Infinite Campus SIS and Google Workspace SSO. Every document is now verified against the district's enrollment policy automatically. Instead of checking each document by hand, only exceptions flagged by Edulyze are reviewed, the ones that need human attention.
Initial training took 30 minutes — the team was processing applications the same day. Leadership gained view-only access to monitor enrollment in real time without risk of accidental changes. Then the enrollment window opened and hundreds of applications started rolling in...
Every single one — verified.
Within four months, the strategic decision paid off.
Less Stress. One coordinator handles enrollment across the district instead of splitting the work across seven campuses. The work is sustainable. No overtime.
Cleaner Data. Every application goes through the same verification before approval. Clean, consistent data from day one. Ready for state reporting.
Happier People. The coordinator who questioned whether the job was sustainable now loves it. Parents who used to wait days for a status update now hear back the same day.
“Consistent data is critical for state reporting. With so many people processing enrollments, we weren't getting it — now we are.”
“Parents used to wait days to find out if their child's application was approved. Now they know the same day.”
